Times have changed drastically since the 1990s and communicating about your projects to your friends and fans has never been easier. Who remembers the days of old when we used to maintain people’s mailing addresses, handwrite or print them onto postcards, affix stamps, and then drop them at the post office? This was an excruciating, labor-intensive, and expensive task, especially if you maintained a mailing list of 1,000 names of more.
With the arrival of email, sending out communications about your projects couldn’t be any easier. Now commonplace and long accepted as a norm within the arts community, email is fast, easy, and cost-effective. But it's not without it's challenges. Getting your reader to open your message, read it is more difficult than you may imagine.
